today was loooong. well, the morning was. megan & i joined cody & anna to get going on the ceiling joists up in the atrium. however, anna & cody had to finish a tiny parrot wall for the kitchen area. this ended up taking much longer than expected, and megan & i ended up sitting a lot/helping when needed. after this, we ventured to the atrium to try and figure out how to get the face boards/ledger boards etc up there. we didn't really come up with a plan until adrian came along and gave us some suggestions. it was slowwww work because a) it's quite scary standing on a ladder up there in the first place and b) it's difficult to get leverage to drill/nail without pushing yourself off the ladder. thankfully, this didn't happen to anyone. anna, lauren, cody & i took turns climbing up there to get the ledgers up. we got one side finished, and i assume we'll finish the other side tomorrow. woo! and now that we've got a system in place, it should be easier.
