day thirty.

today we poured concrete! it was very exciting, and was super awesome to have something different to do today. megan and i got to the site around 11:00, and the pouring was already underway. the weather was nice and cooperative in the morning, however around 12 it started raining. it sucked. the novelty of the cement trucks and the snout, as robert called it, wore off very quickly, and since it continued drizzling ALL afternoon, i was soaked and quite miserable. it also didn't help that i spent the majority of the day standing around, waiting for something to do. there wasn't much to be done, unless concrete spilled over, in which case we cleaned that up. i did spend a while 'floating' the windows, aka making the concrete smooth and pretty. but other than that, i just fetched things for people up on the scaffolding, or stood around. but at least we've got the concrete FINALLY poured! and now we have monday off!!!

oh, so my hands are a bit better today... i scrubbed them a lot last night and got the worst of it off, so now i just have to wait until the rest of it comes off by itself. adrian guessed it would take a week or so. we'll see.

cement trucks! there was a line of like 5 of them. it was neat.
